Artist, Jeri Bothamley, paints the beauty of the Lakes Region, but travels to other venues to work on landscapes and costal scenes en plain air. In her studio, she creates impressionistic paintings of flowers from her garden, of still life arrangements, and finishes pieces begun outside. Her inspirations are the interaction of color with light, and the impact that it has on the way one views the world.
Jeri pursued formal arts training at Michigan State University, attending graduate classes there and at the University of CT. After teaching art, her focus moved to full time art practice. In the Northeast, her murals in oil appear in over a thousand private residences. Other venues over the years have included restaurantsBlack Eyed Sally’s, Pasties French Restaurant, and Hot Tomatoes---as well as public buildings such as Glastonbury Audubon Center, First Church of Christ in Hartford and Longmeadow Library, MA. Ten years ago, Jeri began coming back to NH and transitioning from murals to oils on canvas. More recently, she has studied with John C. Traynor of southern NH and Colin Page of costal ME.
A Laconia, NH, resident, she is involved in the Artist’s Loft, Laconia Art League and the Laconia Design Collaborative. She is currently pleased to present a one person show at the Busiel Community Room & Gallery, One Mill Plaza, Laconia, NH, from February 29th through April 2nd with an opening on Sunday, February 28th from 3:00 to 6:00 PM. Friends and the public are invited to attend, view the paintings and celebrate the hanging of these recent works.
